I’m Emily Gavigan – currently in flux as I embark on my next chapter, so this section will probably change shortly. I recently graduated with an MA in Publishing and am in the process of uprooting my life from the Philadelphia Main Line to the beautiful Pocono Mountains. This means leaving behind one of the best jobs I have ever had, as a bookseller at an independent bookstore. I have an incredible boyfriend whom I’ve been with on and off since 2005; he lives in southern Vermont right now, and we have pretty much perfected the long-distance relationship thing. I’m a survivor of Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis (ANMDARE), which has taken me from “this girl is never going to graduate or have a real life” to “successful graduate student living on her own,” and I’m extremely passionate about spreading awareness, so you can expect some of that on the blog. When I’m not packing or doing something publishing-related, I can be found reading, binge-watching shows Netflix, baking, practicing yoga, making lists, or spending money I don’t have at HomeGoods.
I intend for this blog to be a combination of personal and literature. It is my first real foray into blogging (unless you count my private LiveJournal from 2003 or the Tumblr on which I obsessively reblog photos of the Olsen twins, home decor, and food porn – I don’t). I want to mix important parts of my life with literature-related posts.
